{"id":4021,"date":"2025-12-19T14:14:37","date_gmt":"2025-12-19T15:14:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/youtubexyoutube.com\/?p=4021"},"modified":"2025-12-26T13:48:55","modified_gmt":"2025-12-26T13:48:55","slug":"putin-warns-nato-against-potential-blockade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/youtubexyoutube.com\/index.php\/2025\/12\/19\/putin-warns-nato-against-potential-blockade\/","title":{"rendered":"Putin warns NATO against potential blockade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Moscow would \u201celiminate\u201d any threats created around Kaliningrad, the Russian president has warned<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Any attempt to blockade Russia\u2019s Kaliningrad on the Baltic coast would spark an <em>\u201cunprecedented escalation\u201d<\/em> and could expand into a large-scale armed conflict, President Vladimir Putin has warned.<\/p>\n<p>The Russian leader made the remarks on Friday during his traditional end-of-year Q&amp;A session when asked how Moscow would respond if European states sought to impose a blockade on the country\u2019s westernmost region, an exclave bordered by NATO members Lithuania and Poland.<\/p>\n<p>Putin said he hoped such a scenario would not occur, adding: <em>\u201cIf they create threats of this kind, we will eliminate those threats.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0<br \/><em><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cEveryone must understand and be aware that actions of this kind will simply lead to an escalation unprecedented to date\u2026 taking it to a completely different level\u2026 up to a large-scale armed conflict,\u201d<\/em> he added.<\/p>\n<p>Russian officials have repeatedly warned against any steps that could cut the exclave off by land. Deputy Foreign Minister Aleksandr Grushko has previously said that he hoped <em>\u201ccommon sense\u201d<\/em> in Europe would prevent <em>\u201cplaying with fire\u201d<\/em> around Kaliningrad.<\/p>\n<p>Some Western leaders, particularly from Poland and the Baltic states, have previously called for attacks on Kaliningrad in the event of a conflict between Moscow and NATO. Tensions over transit flared after the escalation of the Ukraine conflict in 2022, when Vilnius began restricting the rail transit of goods subject to EU sanctions to and from Kaliningrad.
