The campaign targeted Iranian military and civilian infrastructure, including bridges, power facilities, and transportation networks, prompting Tehran to retaliate with strikes on US military facilities across the Middle East.<\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mid.ru\/ru\/foreign_policy\/news\/2128479\/?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">statement<\/a> on Thursday, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova urged <em>\u201call sides in the conflict to demonstrate a responsible approach and restraint and to refrain from any actions that could expand the geography of military confrontation and lead to the further deterioration of the military-political situation in the Middle East.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Zakharova said the escalation is <em>\u201cgaining momentum,\u201d<\/em> as the opposing sides continue to exchange strikes, causing large-scale damage to civilian infrastructure in Iran and several Arab states.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\n        <span><strong>Read more<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<figure>\n            <img src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" alt=\"FILE PHOTO.
