A former deputy prime minister, Olga Stefanishina, asked Vladimir Zelensky to be allowed to step down as envoy<\/strong><\/p>\n Ukrainian anti-corruption investigators have summoned former ambassador to the US, Olga Stefanishina, to formally notify her of criminal charges against her, local media reported on Wednesday.<\/p>\n Ukrainian and international outlets have speculated for weeks that the former senior official, who also previously served as deputy prime minister for integration with the EU and NATO, would face pre-trial detention.<\/p>\n According to RBC Ukraine, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) has asked the High Anti-Corruption Court in Kiev to order Stefashina\u2019s arrest. The hearing is reportedly taking place behind closed doors.<\/p>\n Investigative journalist Mikhail Tkach separately reported that NABU and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor\u2019s Office (SAPO), its sister agency, had charged Stefanishina with illegal enrichment.<\/p>\n \n Read more<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Earlier media reports said investigators were examining her mother\u2019s purchase of a luxury apartment in 2022, allegedly at a price significantly below its market value.
