The agglomeration has been heavily fortified by Ukrainian forces and remains the last major stronghold under Kiev\u2019s control in the region.<\/p>\n<p>Footage released by the military shortly after the announcement shows moments from the fierce battle for the city.<\/p>\n<p>\n        <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rt.com\/russia\/642563-putin-konstantinovka-russia-ukraine\/\" rel=\"noopener\"><br \/>\n            <span>READ MORE: <\/span>Putin issues warning to Kiev and its \u2018instigators\u2019 (VIDEO)<br \/>\n        <\/a>\n    <\/p>\n<p>The video features assorted drone and artillery strikes on Ukrainian troops, as well as Russian soldiers unfurling the country\u2019s flags at captured positions. The city has been heavily damaged during the weeks of fighting, with many buildings reduced to rubble.<\/p>\n<p>The liberation of Konstantinovka has been touted as a major achievement by the Russian leadership.
