Rustam Nabiev scaled the world\u2019s highest peak without prosthetics in what he called a symbol of the strength and resilience of the Russian people<\/strong><\/p>\n Russian mountaineer Rustam Nabiev has pulled off a historic Everest ascent using only his hands, dedicating the climb to \u201ceveryone\u201d<\/em> fighting through hardship.<\/p>\n The 34-year-old double amputee reached the top of the world\u2019s highest mountain, which stands 8,848.86 meters above sea level, on May 20 at 8:16 AM local time. Nabiev described the climb as \u201cthe first in the history of mountaineering, the first in human history.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cI, Rustam Nabiev, reached the summit of Everest using only my hands,\u201d<\/em> he wrote in a social media post announcing the achievement.<\/p>\n \u201cI dedicate this ascent to everyone watching me now. With this act, I simply want to say one thing: as long as there\u2019s life left in you, fight! Please fight to the end! It\u2019s worth it,\u201d<\/em> he added.<\/p>\n Nabiev shared a photo of himself on the summit holding a poster that read: \u201cTo those who thought that life ended after the fall.
