Russian military planners will respond to France\u2019s new forward nuclear deterrence strategy, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov has said<\/strong><\/p>\n Russia will respond to efforts by European NATO members to build up their nuclear war capacity, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov has told TASS.<\/p>\n The Russian diplomat was referring to the new \u201cforward nuclear deterrence strategy\u201d<\/em> unveiled by French President Emmanuel Macron in March. Under the plan, France aims to expand its atomic arsenal and move its nuclear weapons to other European NATO states as part of \u201ccircumstantial deployments.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cParis\u2019 false slogans about strengthening its allies\u2019 security are leading to exactly the opposite [results],\u201d<\/em> Ryabkov said. Nations that would host French nuclear weapons on their territory would come \u201cunder closer scrutiny of our military responsible for strategic deterrence,\u201d<\/em> he stated, adding that \u201cthe general security level of those nations would\u2026 not increase.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
